Living Freedom: Elaine Norling

This is an amazing visual history of homebirth in Australia, told through the lens of the lifelong activism efforts of Elaine Norling, consumer advocate and homebirth campaigner since 1969, as presented at the 30th Homebirth Australia conference held in Melbourne earlier this year.  A good reminder of where we’ve come from, what we’ve gained, what we’ve lost, and what we’re still campaigning for: the basic right for women to be able to birth wherever they want.

And here’s a beautiful film of Elaine that captures some of her energy and personality, her desire to connect people in local communities and her consistent advocacy in many different arenas – inspirational!  So grateful for these elders  & Way-Showers…
